Weekly Auction & Sales Results, Market Overview

While the auction market continues to deliver very consistent sales results the activity in the market has clearly shifted to private sales this year with the REIV recording more homes sold privately than the comparable time last year.

This is also resulting in strong demand for the homes sold at auction as evidenced by this weekend’s clearance rate of 75 per cent.

There were 339 auctions reported with 254 selling and 85 being passed in – 58 of those on a vendors bid.

Scheduled auction numbers increase for the next two weekends, hitting a peak for the year-to-date of just over 600 before Easter.
